1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Addonist (“we,” “our,” or “us”) governing your access to and use of our Google Workspace Add-ons, including but not limited to Backlink Monitor, and our website at addonist.com (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Services.

2. Services Description

Addonist provides Google Workspace Add-ons and related services. Our current Services include:

  • Backlink Monitor: A Google Workspace add-on designed to verify and monitor backlinks across the web
  • Addonist Website: Information and support for our products and services
  • Custom Google Workspace Add-on Development: Professional services for creating custom Google Workspace solutions

3. Account Registration and Eligibility

3.1 Google Workspace Account

To use our Google Workspace Add-ons, you must have a valid Google Workspace account and provide accurate and complete information as prompted by the registration process. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account.

3.2 Age Requirements

You must be at least 16 years of age to use our Services. By using our Services, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements that we outline in these Terms. We may still provide the Services to you if you are between 16 and 18 years old, but only if you have the consent of a parent or guardian.

3.3 User Identification

When you use our add-ons, we identify your account using the Google account email address of the spreadsheet owner. This email is used to track your usage, enforce plan limits, and manage your account tier. By using our Services, you acknowledge and consent to this identification and tracking.

4. License and Service Usage

4.1 Limited License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use our Services for your personal or internal business purposes.

4.2 Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • Use the Services for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Services or any systems or networks connected to the Services
  • Use the Services to transmit viruses, malware, or other malicious code
  • Modify, adapt, or hack the Services or modify another website to falsely imply that it is associated with the Services
  • Use automated means, including scraping, bots, or crawlers, to access or collect data from our Services
  • Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with usage limits, tier restrictions, or other access controls implemented in the Services
  • Create multiple accounts or use other methods to circumvent plan limitations or abuse free usage allowances

4.3 Usage Tiers and Limitations

Our Services operate under a tiered usage model. The following tiers are currently available for Backlink Monitor:

  • Free Plan: Limited to 500 backlink checks per month
  • Free Extended Plan: Limited to 1,500 backlink checks per month. This tier is available on a promotional basis and may be claimed once per account. The Free Extended plan is offered at our discretion and may be modified, limited, or discontinued at any time.
  • Pro Plan: A paid subscription tier with expanded limits. The Pro plan is not yet available. Details, pricing, and limits will be announced when it launches.

Other Addonist products may have different usage tiers and restrictions, which will be clearly specified within each Service.

Changes to Usage Tiers: We reserve the right to modify, adjust, or discontinue any usage tier, including changing check limits, adding or removing tiers, or converting promotional tiers (such as Free Extended) to paid plans. We will endeavor to provide reasonable notice of material changes to usage limits through our Services or by email. Continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Abuse and Enforcement: Any abuse, circumvention, or manipulation of usage limits — including but not limited to creating multiple accounts, using automated tools to inflate usage, or exploiting system vulnerabilities — may result in immediate suspension or termination of your access to the Services without prior notice.

5. User Content and Data

5.1 Your Content

You retain all of your rights to any content or data you submit, post, or display through our Services (“User Content”). By using our Services, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to access, use, process, copy, distribute, and display your User Content only as needed to provide and maintain the Services.

5.2 Responsibility for Content

You are solely responsible for your User Content and the consequences of submitting and publishing it. You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to your User Content and that it does not violate the rights of any third party.

5.3 Data Privacy

Our collection and use of information about you and your use of the Services is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

6. Subscription and Payment Terms

6.1 Free and Paid Services

Our Services may offer both free and paid features. Free tiers are subject to usage limitations as described in Section 4.3. By subscribing to our paid Services, you agree to pay all applicable fees.

6.2 Payment Processing

We use third-party payment processors (e.g., Paddle) to bill you through a payment account linked to your account. Payment processing services may be subject to different terms of service and privacy policies.

6.3 Subscription Terms

Paid subscriptions automatically renew until canceled by you. You may cancel your subscription at any time, but no refunds will be provided for the current billing period.

6.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. If we do change prices, we will provide notice of the change within the Services or by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

7.1 Our Intellectual Property

The Services and their original content, features, and functionality are owned by Addonist and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.

7.2 Feedback

If you provide us with any feedback or suggestions, you grant us an unlimited, irrevocable, perpetual, sublicensable, transferable, royalty-free license to use such feedback for any purpose without compensation to you.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services.

9. Termination

9.1 Termination by You

You may terminate these Terms at any time by canceling your account and discontinuing use of the Services.

9.2 Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your access to all or part of the Services, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms or abuse usage limits as described in Section 4.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ADDONIST EXPLICITLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL FUNCTION UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT THE SERVICES OR SERVER THAT MAKES IT AVAILABLE ARE FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ADDONIST, ITS AFFILIATES, AGENTS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICES.

ADDONIST’S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, REGARDLESS OF THE FORM OF ACTION, WILL BE LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO ADDONIST IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Addonist, its affiliates, licensors, and service providers, and its and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, suppliers, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Services.

13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute arising from them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Both parties agree to submit to the jurisdiction of competent courts for the resolution of any disputes arising under these Terms.

13.1 Regional Variations

Depending on where you reside, you may have certain legal rights that cannot be waived through these Terms:

  • European Union/EEA Users: If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, you will benefit from any mandatory provisions of consumer law in the country where you are resident. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer to rely on these local law mandatory provisions.
  • United States Users: Some states do not allow certain limitations on liability or certain types of disclaimers. If these laws apply to you, some of the limitations in these Terms may not apply.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days’ notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

By continuing to access or use our Services after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Services.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, such provision shall be struck and the remaining provisions shall be enforced.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other legal notices published by us on the Services, constitute the entire agreement between you and us concerning the Services.

18. Specific Services

18.1 Backlink Monitor

Backlink Monitor is subject to these Terms as well as the following specific terms:

  • You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to check the URLs you submit
  • We do not guarantee that all backlinks will be detected, as website structures, content, and access policies vary
  • Scheduled checks are subject to Google Workspace’s quotas and limitations
  • Usage is subject to the tier limitations described in Section 4.3 of these Terms
  • Premium features may be subject to additional usage limitations as specified in your subscription plan
  • We track usage (number of checks performed) tied to the spreadsheet owner’s Google account email to enforce plan limits
  • Abuse or circumvention of usage limits may result in suspension of access as described in Section 4
