Troubleshooting installation issues
If you encounter problems during installation, here are solutions to common issues:
“Installation failed” error
Possible causes and solutions:
- Browser cache issues: Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try again
- Google account restrictions: Ensure you’re using an account that allows add-on installations
- Workspace admin restrictions: Your organization may restrict add-on installations; contact your Google Workspace administrator
Authorization fails or gets stuck
Try these solutions:
- Refresh the page and try authorizing again
- Use an incognito/private browser window
- Try a different browser
- Temporarily disable browser extensions that might interfere with Google authorization
- Check if you’re signed into multiple Google accounts and select the correct one
Add-on doesn’t appear after installation
If the add-on doesn’t show up:
- Refresh your Google Sheet
- Close and reopen Google Sheets
- Check the Extensions menu to see if it appears there
- Verify the add-on is installed by going to Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons
