Troubleshooting installation issues

If you encounter problems during installation, here are solutions to common issues:

“Installation failed” error

Possible causes and solutions:

  • Browser cache issues: Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try again
  • Google account restrictions: Ensure you’re using an account that allows add-on installations
  • Workspace admin restrictions: Your organization may restrict add-on installations; contact your Google Workspace administrator

Authorization fails or gets stuck

Try these solutions:

  1. Refresh the page and try authorizing again
  2. Use an incognito/private browser window
  3. Try a different browser
  4. Temporarily disable browser extensions that might interfere with Google authorization
  5. Check if you’re signed into multiple Google accounts and select the correct one

Add-on doesn’t appear after installation

If the add-on doesn’t show up:

  1. Refresh your Google Sheet
  2. Close and reopen Google Sheets
  3. Check the Extensions menu to see if it appears there
  4. Verify the add-on is installed by going to Extensions → Add-ons → Manage add-ons
